The backbone story an idea to change the world, built to revolutionise

Since 2009 we’ve been India’s strategic backbone for hybrid manufacturing, pairing additive, subtractive and formative processes under one roof. Your wingman from first sketch to flight-grade, implant-grade, production-grade reality.

2009

Born in Mumbai as a rapid-prototyping bureau with one stubborn idea: every part deserves the right process, not the available one.

The 2010s

The roof fills up. Resin printers are joined by powder beds, DMLS metal, a CNC floor, vacuum-casting cells and four paint booths, the full ladder from sketch to production.

Certified

AS9100D for aerospace and ISO 13485 for medical devices: flight-grade and implant-grade work, documented and traceable end to end.

Today

150+ Imaginarians across Mumbai, Zurich and New York, shipping seven technologies from one roof to six industries.

The people

Left brain on the front right brain on the back.

The minds measuring twice and imagining wilder, every day under one roof. Flip a card to meet both halves.

still looks up every time something flies over.

The part has to fly he makes sure it does.

Peter (PJ) Ortiz joins Imaginarium as Special Advisor for Aviation & Aerospace after a career spent inside two of the most demanding production systems in flight: The Boeing Company and Blue Origin. Across commercial aircraft and launch vehicles, he has led the supply chain and operations teams that keep programs fed, flying and on schedule.

That is decades of hard-won judgement about what it takes to put a part on an aircraft or a rocket: how suppliers are qualified, how quality systems hold at rate, and how a programme survives contact with reality. He has built and led the teams that do it, from the factory floor to the supplier's door.

At Imaginarium he puts that experience to work on flight-grade additive adoption: which parts to print, how to qualify them, and what it takes for a hybrid factory in Mumbai to earn its place in an aerospace supply chain, from AS9100D paperwork to on-wing performance.
